No excessive amounts of organic chlorides in transit oil in Belarus

No excessive amounts of organic chlorides in transit oil in Belarus

Minsk, June 21 - Neftegaz.RU. The quality of oil coming from Russia and being transported to Belarusian oil refineries as well as towards Poland and Ukraine is closely monitored in all sections of the oil pipeline Druzhba in Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian Belneftekhim told BelTA.

For the last few days no transit oil sample taken in Belarus has demonstrated excessive amounts of organic chlorides, the source noted. At the same time the Belarusian side openly works with the Russian side and the Polish one in order to find out reasons behind the Polish PERN registering pinpoint oil pollution.

According to the source, the situation is under control. Oil transportation towards Poland continues. Belneftekhim will continue making conclusions on the basis of analysis and reliable information instead of speculations, the source stressed.

In strict compliance with the roadmap adopted by the sides Gomeltransneft Druzhba is taking steps to remove polluted oil from the 3rd line of the oil pipeline Druzhba in the section between Kobrin and Mozyr and further into the Russian territory.

As of 20 June the pipeline pig has travelled for 223km from Kobrin. The 3rd line – the last one – of the oil pipeline Druzhba from the border to the line operation dispatcher station Mozyr will be cleaned by early July 2019.

The removal of polluted oil from the 2nd line of the oil pipeline Druzhba between Belarusian Mozyr and Russian Unecha will begin after that. There is still about 630,000 tonnes of substandard oil in pipelines in Belarus.
