Ashgabat, October 10 - Neftegaz.RU. Alexey Miller, Gazprom´s CEO, paid a working visit to Turkmenistan on October 9. The Turkmen government reported also, that a telephone conversation took place between Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Visiting as part of a Russian delegation headed by Konstantin Chuychenko, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Alexey Miller took part in a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. The meeting reviewed the prospects of Russian-Turkmen cooperation in the gas sector.
About 190 companies with Russian capital operate in Turkmenistan. At the same time, Russia's Gazprom, a traditional trade partner, completely stopped purchasing Turkmen gas in 2016. Ashgabat and Moscow remain embroiled in an arbitration spat over prices.
Russia's Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky said on July 27 that Gazprom may resume negotiations on purchasing Turkmen gas this autumn.
