The Belarussian National Bank said that its gold and foreign exchange reserves, in the national definition, grew 24.5% in the first four months 2005, to $1.303 billion as of April 1.
The reserves increased by 3.6% in April and 5.4% in March.
The reserves included $993.3 million in foreign currency deposits and $182.4 million in gold, respectively 32.3% more and 7.6% less than on January 1. Forex deposits and gold accounted for 76.2% and 14% of the total reserves, compared with 71.7% and 18.9% on January 1.
