Turkmen President appointed the country´s leaders of the fuel & energy complex

Ashgabat, April 8 - Neftegaz.RU. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a government meeting signed decrees on the appointment of the heads of the fuel & energy complex.

He announced his decision to appoint Batyr Amanov as the State Minister of Turkmenistan – Chairman of the State Concern «Turkmengas».
Guvanch Agadzhanov was appointed to the post of the Chairman of the State Company «Turkmennebit».
The head of Turkmenistan also said that he had decided to appoint Merdan Rozyev as the Chairman of the State Corporation «Turkmengeology».

The Central Asian country of Turkmenistan has the 4th-largest natural gas reserves in the world, totalling 19.5 tcm (688 trillion cubic feet).
That is equivalent to a 9.8% share of the of the overall global resource.

Most of the natural gas reserves in Turkmenistan are located in large fields in the Amu Darya basin in the southeast, the Murgab Basin in the south and the South Caspian basin in the western part of the country.

Despite its vast oil & natural gas resource base, Turkmenistan is not a major player in energy markets because of the lack of infrastructure, limiting its exporting capabilities.
In the past several years, the country has been increasing investment to develop its reserves and export more natural gas to countries such as China.

Russia has doubled the imports of natural gas from Turkmenistan in 2021.
