The management of the Rusneftekhim attended an online event dedicated to advanced technologies for the construction of Achimov horizontal wells with hydraulic fracturing at the Urengoy gas condensate field based on the experience of industrial drilling performed by ERIELL.

A report was made by Alexander Milenkiy, chief engineer of the company.

The presentation contained the main challenges when working with Achimov formations during horizontal sinking, analytics for solving complex problems by selecting the necessary equipment and chemistry, as well as engineering approaches for accident prevention.

In conclusion, the author of the report answered a number of professional technological questions asked by the participants of the event.

Thanks to the accumulated experience and improved technologies, it is possible to build horizontal sections of Achimov wells with a length of up to two kilometers including hydraulic fracturing, which significantly increases the flow rates, which can reach 1.5 million cubic meters of gas per day.

Rusneftekhim owns a fund of highly productive gas condensate wells located in the Purovsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district in the territory of the Urengoy oil and gas condensate field, which is one of the largest in the world, in the operating area of «Gazprom dobycha Urengoy» subsidiary of Gazprom.
