As part of the agreement, Rosneft will supply up to 123,900 tonnes of petroleum products to mining and metallurgical enterprises in the Norilsk industrial region from October 2020 to April 2021.
The supplies will be transported through the Northeast Passage by Nornickel vessels with a correspondence through the facilities of Rosneft subsidiary Arkhangelsknefteprodukt. This terminal was selected to be a part of the logistics chain by the acting governor of Arkhangelsk region Alexander Tsybulsky.
The terms of cooperation between Rosneft and Nornickel will be stipulated in contracts that will require the parties to adhere to the highest standards of environmental safety.
Norilsk Nickel is a diversified mining and metallurgical company, the world’s largest producer of palladium and high-grade nickel and a major producer of platinum and copper. The company also produces cobalt, rhodium, silver, gold, iridium, ruthenium, selenium, tellurium, sulphur and other products.
