Schlumberger Oil & Gas Information Solutions Group Launched

Schlumberger today announced the formation of Schlumberger Oil & Gas Information Solutions (SIS), a new operating unit of Schlumberger Oilfield Services delivering solutions to enable real-time reservoir management and business optimization across the exploration and production (E&P) information spectrum.

``Our new organization leverages the competencies essential to the successful iTransformation of the oil and gas industry by bringing together the information-centric divisions of Schlumberger Oilfield Services,'' said Satish Pai, president of SIS. ``This new group will help our customers manage the worldwide implementation of innovative workflows that will bring a step change in their business performance.''

The SIS offering is based on an industry-unique combination of software, information management and technology, and expert services, which builds upon the expertise of several Schlumberger divisions -- GeoQuest, IndigoPool, Data Management, Data and Consulting Services, Merak, Network for Excellence in Training (NExT) and Schlumberger Network Solutions. In addition, Schlumberger Sema, the new business segment formed through the acquisition of Sema, will bring its complete spectrum of IT services to support SIS.
