AfricaSchlumberger Oilfield Services has launched an advanced stimulation vessel for deepwater service. In addition to expanding the fleet to meet operator needs worldwide, the new-generation Galaxie design integrates fit-for-purpose improvements in marine, mechanical, electronic and chemical engineering. The new vessel is bound for deepwater projects in West Africa, where operators are requiring more advanced stimulation alternatives. The Galaxie provides the ability to execute high-quality and large-capacity stimulation treatments including high-rate frac and packs, acidizing and gravel-packing services. The advanced stimulation systems built into the Galaxie are custom-designed specifically for the high-permeability sandstone and the carbonate formations found in the West Africa deepwater environment.
