Enron Accountant Surrenders to FBI
If convicted, former exec could face 55 years in jail and $5.25 million in fines...
Richard Causey, the former head accountant of failed energy giant Enron, surrendered yesterday to the FBI in Houston.
An indictment accusing him of being "engaged in a wide-ranging scheme, through a variety of devices, to deceive the investing public about the true performance and profitability of Enron's businesses" was served.
In a court appearance Mr. Causey pleaded innocent. If convicted, Mr Causey could face a jail sentence of 55 years and $ 5.25m in fines.
