Final Shipment Off to Iraq
Russian automobile manufacturer believes more Iraqi business in the future...
The Gorky Automobile Factory (GAZ) has completed work on the last 88 Volga cars for Iraq's order for 5,000 of the cars from 2001, said Aleksei Barantsev, GAZ's general director.
Barantsev said, 'We have a chance at another big sale of autos for Iraq, but it's premature for me to be talking about it at this time'. He added: 'We expect to get the money for the latest sale in April.'
GAZ and Iraq's Trade Ministry had signed a contract in 2001 for the delivery of 5,000 GAZ-3110 Volgas stipulating payment of euro 44 million.
