$1.7 billion acquistion gives firm strong hold on US gas market...
TransCanada, the Canadian gas pipeline giant, will acquire the US interstate gas pipeline assets of PG&E for $1.7 billion, including debt assumption.
The assets include the main gas pipeline through the US Pacific Northwest, from Idaho through Washington and Oregon to the California border. The system connects with TransCanada PipeLines' Foothills system at the Canadian border.
