ChevronTexaco Buys Enron Skyscraper

ChevronTexaco plans to buy the 40-story downtown skyscraper that Enron built before the disgraced energy giant collapsed into bankruptcy.

The purchase will bring to Houston about 500 jobs from ChevronTexaco operations in California, New Orleans and Midland, Texas.

Purchase price of the tower was not disclosed, however ChevronTexaco executives said they expect to invest about $45 million in improvements.
