GE Bags Another Major Contract
Latest deal follows success at Trinidad....
A $200 million contract has been awarded to US-based GE Energy by Qatar Petroleum (QP) and ExxonMobil. The deal is for the supply of three turbo compressor strings for the Qatargas II LNG Expansion Project.
The project envisions an offshore development, acquisition of large capacity LNG tankers and construction of a de-gasification terminal that will be supplying LNG to the UK.
Qatargas II is the world's largest LNG project, featuring one of the largest LNG production terminals. QP holds 70% stake in it and ExxonMobil holds the remaining 30%.
