Yukos Subsidiaries Under the Microscope

Russian law enforcement officials in the Samara Region have resumed a criminal investigation into tax evasion by three Yukos oil company subsidiaries.

According to government sources, the cases relating to financial and economic irregularities have been reopened against the Kuybyshev, Novokuybyshev and Syzran oil refineries because earlier "the investigation into these irregularities was not carried out properly and the Prosecutor's Office of Samara Region deemed it necessary to carry the investigation through".
