Canadian Giant Goes Eastern Europe
Promotion to be key according to industry player...
Canadian giant Petro-Canada has landed on the Polish oil market. The company has signed a co-operation agreement with the Krakow firm Variant, which specialises in car oil distribution. "We are going to use this distribution chain (Variant). We act in the sector of advanced technologies and our offer starts where the upper price and technology thresholds of such giants as Shell or BP end," says Grzegorz Trojanowski, Petro - Canada's representative in Eastern and Central Europe.
However, according to Aurelia Kuran - Puszkarska, president of the Polish Liquid Fuels Chamber, the new player will have to spend large amounts of money on advertising and promotion of its products to convince customers to change their habits.
