The US Supreme Court has denied a request from Halliburton to hear an appeal of a $101 million judgment in favor of the BJ Services Corp., according to a BJ Services press release.
No further appeals are available to Halliburton, according to BJ Services, which filed the suit against Halliburton in March 2000 for allegedly infringing one of BJ's patents for extracting oil and gas.
Houston-based BJ said it expects to record a gain as a result of the judgment of $55 million to $58 million after taxes in the quarter ended Jun. 30.
