An agreement on the development of the Talakan oil field has been reached between Yukos and the republic's leadership, Surgutneftegaz press service said today.
Under the agreement, (Yukos affiliate) Sakhaneftegaz will sell the Talakan field's assets, including the Lenaneftegaz company, to Surgutneftegaz.
"The agreement allows Surgutneftegaz to launch a large-scale operation in Yakutia. This is in the interests of the republic, as well as in the interests of our company," Surgutneftegaz head Vladimir Bogdanov told journalists. "We have come to Eastern Siberia to stay," he added.
