Russian news agencies reported today that the Russian government was considering last week?s proposal by Yukos chief executive Steven Theede, to pay 7.5 euros billion over three years. It is the first sign of government?s temporizing with YUKOS.
YUKOS has passed the deadline to pay a $3 billion tax bill for 2000 and the Tax Service has made a further claim for $3 billion for 2001. And, the prosecutors allege that YUKOS? debts for 2002 and 2003 are similar.
