The US oil and gas service company Halliburton senior executives on Thursday defended in Congress record in accusations of waste and overcharging in Iraq, where Halliburton's handling of more than $8 billion in Pentagon contracts.
Four senior company executives mounted a vigorous defense of Halliburton's performance in Iraq in testimony before a highly partisan and sometimes rancorous hearing of the House Committee on Government Reform.
WE remind you, that Halliburton has awarded the two big contracts of the Iraqi war, an agreement to provide logistical support to the military, for which it had been paid $5.6 billion as of May, and another to repair Iraqi oil facilities and import civilian fuels, for which it was paid $2.5 billion last year.
