Russia?s natural gas monopoly Gazprom made the lowest offer of all four foreign companies while participating in tender for the purchasing of Distrigaz Sud, one of two Romanian gas companies.
Gazprom offered less than $100 million to acquire 30 percent of Distrigaz Sud, while Gaz de France offered up to $150 million, the Romanian newspaper reported.
Gazprom, Gaz de France, E.ON's Ruhrgas and Enel on July 15 made final bids to buy majority stakes in Distrigaz Sud and Distrigaz Nord, the two Romanian gas distributions that account for 90 percent of gas deliveries in the country.
Gazprom bid only for Distrigaz Sud.
Romania is expected to select a winner by the end of September.
