The Moscow Arbitration Court upheld a plea by the Yukos and ruled that the Court Bailiff Service levy of about 6.7 billion rubles on the company is invalid.
According to a decision of 9 July, signed by the executive bailiff, Yukos has to pay an executive charge 6.7 billion rubles. Yukos management petitioned to Moscow Arbitration Court for the declaring invalid the bailiffs? levying an executive charge of 6.7 billion rubles.
The charge levied in the event of a debtor failing to voluntarily implement a court ruling is 7 per cent of the total debt. At large, Yukos has to pay taxes, penalties and fines for the year 2000 totaling 99.3bn rubles.
