LUKoil Analyses The Ways Out

The president of Russian oil major LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov got a new American partner in a deal with US oil firm ConocoPhillips. Now, he hopes to lose something from the Kremlin: the political discount on LUKOIL shares.

Alekperov said that despite his company is one of the largest energy companies in terms of reserves, and the second largest in the world, there are other measures, like market cap, which ?depend on many factors, such as politics."
Russia's "domestic legislation" is "not perfect," says Alekperov. "But I believe investors will eventually overcome these stereotypes," he adds, just as ConocoPhillips did.
