Oman Invited Tenders

Oman?s oil giant Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) announced that it invited tenders to get contracts worth more than $500,000 via the Internet.

Tenders who are interested in bidding for contracts will no longer need to be neither located in Oman nor registered with PDO, the premier hydrocarbon exploration and producing company in Oman.

Doing business with PDO will become streamlined, and the process from announcement to award will become absolutely transparent and auditable. Everything will be done online, said Mahmoud Al Lawatia,a project leader of the company.

All in all, contracts with a total value of approximately 2 billion dollars are expected to be awarded over the course of one year.
The system offers many advantages for companies that wish to do business with PDO. It will make it easy for them to reach the right person in the company to kick off the pre-tender procedures.
Meanwhile, PDO also aims to allow local companies to promote their services online.

In this way, Omani companies will be able to market their services to clients worldwide and have a better chanceof working with new and innovative partners.
