The government of Russia has demanded a further $10 billion in back taxes from the beleaguered oil giant Yukos.
A Yukos spokesman said that the Company?s main oil unit, Yuganskneftegas, had been issued with a $3.4 billion tax demand, and Yukos would challenge the tax claim against its unit in court, because it had acted within the bounds of the law.
