Halliburton Disappointed By Pentagon

A US government auditor Stuart Bowen supported a Pentagon recommendation to deny payments to US oilfield services company Halliburton over its work of troops feeding in Iraq.

Bowen supports proposals for the army to hold back 15% of monthly payments on future invoices.
The move could cost the company up to $60 million a month.

"We agree with US Army Materiel Command and Defense Contract Audit Agency positions," Bowen said in a memo, referring to an audit by the DCAA in August.

Halliburton spokeswoman said the company did not expect any plan to accomplish the cuts.
