Petrobras Reduces Drilling Plan

Brazil's state-run energy company Petrobras said it will drill 56 exploratory wells in 2005, less then expected earlier of 62 wells.

According to Petrobras? exploration manager, the company will concentrate on the Campos, Esprito Santo and Jequitinhonha basins.

Together with its partner, Norway's state oil company Statoil, Petrobras have already budgeted $12 million to drill the offshore BM-J-3 well, the first to be drilled in Jequitinhonha since the exploration block was awarded in 2002, the report said.
