Surgutneftegaz To Own Part Of Domestic Oil Firm

Russia?s oil and gas company Surgutneftegaz is likely to buy the stake in Lenaneftegaz company, the property of YUKOS.

According to the company?s spokesmen, the new subsidiary was registered in Yakutia on Monday, which will extract oil at the Talakan oil and gas condensate field.

Last year Lenaneftegaz produced 240,000 tons of oil at the Talakan oil field. It worked there under a provisional license, whose term of effect expired a year ago. A permanent license was given to Surgutneftegaz, and after that the Yakut oil company worked as a contractor of Surgutneftegaz.
