US oil and gas firm ExxonMobil announced it will contribute a record $10.1 million in cash to the United Way in the Houston and Baytown area. The company can afford it because of the profits in its 2004 campaign, the company's most successful ever.
The funds will assist those benefiting from services provided by the non-profit and its affiliated agencies. Of that amount, more than $9 million will address needs of the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast, and some $1.1 million will benefit the United Way of Baytown.
