An indefinite protest action of the local national minorities is to begin in the North Sakhalin on December 20, Russian news agency RIA Novosti repots.
According to the Association of Indigenous Nations of North Sakhalin, the pickets of Nivkhi, Oroki, Nanais and Evenki will block the transport routes involved in the construction of international oil projects' infrastructure.
Association leader Alexei Limanzo said the decision to hold the protest action was made at the 5th congress of indigenous small nations of North Sakhalin held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the regional centre, more than a month ago.
