Russian oil giant Yukos yesterday filed for bankruptcy protection in the US in attempt to halt the forced sale of its key production subsidiary Yuganskeneftegaz.
The oil company made the filing in the Texas? Bankruptcy Court, Houston Division. U.S. Bankruptcy law has worldwide jurisdiction over property of the debtor.
