Russian oil giant Lukoil posted a 1% rise in net profit for the first nine months of 2004 despite a 50.1% jump in sales.
Using US accounting norms, Lukoil reported net profit for the first three quarters of 2004 of 3.095 billion dollars compared with 3.065 billion for the same period in 2003.
It said that in 2003 it had benefited from a 1.130-billion-dollar gain from the exceptional sale of a 10% interest in a project in Azerbaijan, which boosted its results for that year.
