Exxon Invented Long-Lived Oil

World?s biggest oil producer ExxonMobil has developed a new line of motor oils designed to extend the length of time needed between oil changes.

Exxon said that the oils guarantee protection and performance for a minimum of 5,000 and up to 15,000 miles.

According to the company, consumer research found that half of all drivers wait more than 3,000 miles to get their oil changed, and close to 90 percent of those surveyed indicated they would use a motor oil that's guaranteed for up to 7,500 miles.

"Consumers have told us that while they may not necessarily go 15,000 miles between changes with Mobil 1 Extended Performance, they appreciate knowing that the level of protection they're experiencing can go the distance," said Mike Mullins, the vice president of marketing for ExxonMobil Lubricants and Specialties, in a statement.
