Exxon Mobil 2004 Profit Hit A Record

The world?s number one oil company Exxon Mobil announced a record $25.3 billion profit in 2004 due to the surging crude oil prices.

The company saw income from exploration, production and refining soar despite a decline in the amount of oil and gas produced.

Revenues hit a record $298 billion as worries over disruption to oil supplies in Iraq, Nigeria and Russia lifted prices.

Exxon Mobil's profits rose to $25.33bn in comparison with $21.51bn in 2003, on revenues up 17% to $298bn.
