Gazprom is going to produce 950 million cubic meters
Russia?s gas monopoly Gazprom is going to produce 950 million cubic meters of gas in 2005 compared to 540 million cubic meters in 2004, according to RIA Novosti news agency.
To do this, Gazprom will invest about 128 billion rubles (over $4.5 billion) in geological prospecting, expansion and reconstruction of the gas transportation and gas distribution systems, and reproduction of the mineral-raw material base this year.
Another 53 billion rubles (just under $2 billion) will be spent on production and exploration drilling.
Gazprom?s vice chairman Alexander Ananenkov, said at a Moscow conference on Friday, that the management of the company is planning to build new extensions from gas mainlines.
