China's top oil producer PetroChina announced second-half 2004 profit jumped 86 percent to a record high due to the record oil prices on the global market.
PetroChina reported its bumper result as oil prices sat above $54 a barrel, just below record levels.
The company said it would accelerate its efforts to enter the global energy market by expanding overseas operations and will actively seek opportunities to develop its overseas oil and gas exploration and development business.
