Gazprom, China Petroleum Talked On Gas Sales

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom discussed with China National Petroleum Corp. the issue of possibility to boost gas sales to Asia, Gazprom said in its press release.

The meeting, which took place in Sochi, was the first between a working group set up by the two companies during President Vladimir Putin's visit to China in October, Gazprom said.

The talks were focused on finding ways to cooperate on deliveries of piped gas to China and on exporting the gas to other Asian countries, the statement said.
