Russian government valued the state-run oil company Rosneft at 734 billion rubles ($26 billion), according to Russian daily Vedomosti.

The government has ratified plans to issue shares worth that amount to set up Rosneftegaz, a special vehicle the state is creating to manage Rosneft before a planned initial share offering, the newspaper reported.

The valuation includes Yugansk-neftegaz, a former Yukos unit seized by the authorities last year to recover back taxes.
