Russia?s top human rights ombudsman Vladimir Lukin said that convicted Yukos bosses Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev could appeal the 9-year sentence and even take the case to Strasbourg.
He said, ?The first stage in the trial has ended as the Meshchansky court of Moscow passed the verdict. As far as I know, the defense will appeal the sentence, or has already done so, in higher courts.?
