Yukos Accomplice Was Detained
A Spanish citizen, a head of Fargoil company, related to Yukos, was detained
A Spanish citizen Antonio Valdes-Garcia, a head of Fargoil company, related to Yukos, was detained by the Russian authorities, the Associated Press news agency reported.
On Monday, Yukos press service circulated a special statement in which it denounced Valdes-Garcia?s detention as unlawful and voiced concern over the state of health of the detained executive.
Fargoil is a trading company based in Russia?a Mordovia region. Last August, prosecutors found in Yukos offices some documents on the embezzlement of 31 billion rubles (US$1.06 billion) by Yukos executives in 2001 using Fargoil.
