Total To Build Oil Refinery In India

French oil giant Total SA is considering to build an oil refinery in India jointly with a local player, the French company said.

"India is a rapidly growing market," Total's senior vice- president for refining and marketing in Asia Gary Jones said.

"Refineries are highly capital intensive and we would prefer a joint venture. It makes sense to participate with a local partner."
He declined to comment on whether the company is in talks with Indian refinery companies for picking up a stake, the report said.
