Russia and Ukraine have signed a deal on gas supplies just for the next six months, which raises the possibility of more prices disputes and gas supply cuts to Europe this year.
Under the deal, the price Russia pays for transporting gas across Ukraine, the route for 80 percent of its exports to Europe, has been fixed for five years until 2011.
