Gold Up 5 Bucks

Gold soared over $5 today on weaker U.S. dollar against Asian currencies that was encouraging metal buyers.

Spot gold was quoted at $590.25/$591.25 an ounce at 0354 GMT, versus $584.60 an ounce in late New York trading, representing a 1 percent rise.
