The benchmark FTSE 100 Index lost 27.30, or 0.5 percent, to 6021.50 in London as 62 stocks dropped, 37 gained and 2 remained unchanged. The FTSE All-Share Index fell 9.59, or 0.3 percent, to 3110.26.

Shares of BP fell 6.5 pence, or 1.1 percent, to 567.5 pence. Shares of Total declined 90 cents, or 1.7 percent, to 52.65 euros.
