Enron CEO Skilling Ordered to Begin Sentence Immediately

A US appeals court today ordered former Enron chief executive Jeffrey Skilling to begin his 24-year prison sentence immediately.

On Monday, the Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals said Skilling could remain free while it considered granting him bail as he appealed his convictions.

The court denied Skilling's request for bail late today.

Skilling's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, was not immediately for comment.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, Skilling was headed to a federal prison in Minnesota today.
