Sinopec Drills Second Well in Sakhalin-3

Chinese petrochemical giant Sinopec is going to drill the second exploration well at Sakhalin-3 project.

The first well, drilled in 2006, showed that the field holds petroleum reserves, but indicated operation costs would be high, the official said on condition of anonymity.

Apart from this block, the company is also considering bidding for operating rights for three other blocks in Sakhalin-3, he said.
