One of the world’s largest the gas and electricity network owner, National Grid, will on Friday unveil stringent new targets for cutting its carbon emissions as well as plans for “carbon budgets” at all of its divisions.
The company plans to decrease its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 per cent of 1990 levels, adjusted for acquisitions, by 2050, compared with a softer pledge last year of a 60 per cent cut.
