FAS opens case against Sibuglemet coal company

FAS, the Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia, has opened a case against Sibuglemet group, accusing it of violating free competition laws

FAS opens case against Sibuglemet coal company

As reported by Russian paper Expert, FAS accuses Sibuglemet businesses of establishing monopolist high price on coke-coal concentrate. If ruled a violator of competition principles, Sibuglemet nay become yet another victim of FAS' attempts to regulate coal prices. Last summer, the authority made a ruling against three companies: Mechel, Evraz Holding and Raspadskaya, each of them having to pay a fine for breaching the anti-monopoly law. An investigation into pricing policies of a few other coal companies is also underway.
