LUKoil's President Vagit Alikperov told the reporters yesterday that the company continues talks with BP on the purchase of its share in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
Commenting on LUKoil's potential purchase of a 30-percent stake in Spain's Repsol, Alekperov indicated that the parties were not officially in talks, but in fact simply discussing such a possibility.
"This takes time, and the company is not planning to make any other acquisitions in the near future," Alikperov is quoted by RBC as stating.
Earlier, CPC's shareholder Transneft announced that it was interested in the completion of the deal between Lukoil and BP in 2009.
