ExxonMobil said today that drilling should commence on its project with Russia’s Rosneft in the Kara Sea in 2014 – 2015.
ExxonMobil Chief Executive Rex Tillerson told Russian President Vladimir Putin that seismic studies have begun ahead of schedule and should be complete by the end of this month, Reuters reported.
He said that Rosneft and ExxonMobil were reviewing two northwest Arctic shipping alternatives, and that there is also potential for conducting exploration drilling in the Black Sea in 2014 – 2015.
