Africa-focused junior Chariot Oil & Gas announced Monday that it has completed a 1,345-square mile 3D seismic acquisition program in Block C19, offshore Mauritania.
Chariot said the survey – carried out by Fugro-Geoteam – targeted an area in the southwestern section of the block. Once the data has been processed, it will be interpreted in house with the aim of identifying prospects for drilling.
Chariot CEO Larry Bottomley commented in a statement:
"The data collected from the survey fulfills Chariot’s initial three-year work commitment within the block and the interpretation will commence later this year. The results will inform our forward programme as we continue to seek material opportunities in emerging hydrocarbon provinces."
